To Place Supports Using Auto-Placement

In the Piping Ribbon, expand the Supports gallery list and select a gallery to load.

Select the Support specification in the Standard Preferences dialog.

Select a support option from the Support gallery.

Select the length of pipe to support.

Optional: For Supports having multiple records in the database the Spec Record Selection dialog displays the support options. Select the desired support from the dialog and click OK to continue.

The Place Support dialog displays.

Click Enable under the Auto-Placement section and define a Placement Gap length.

Enter a tag number for the support and define any additional properties.

Use the image in the Preview Window to define the parameters in the Design Geometry tab.

Pick the placement point on the pipe.

Note: If placing supports along the entire pipe length, place the first support near one of the end ports.

Pick a rotation direction and length (if prompted) for the support.

Next, click the direction along the pipe length to place the additional supports.
